Gluten-Free Costa Rican Adventure

There is still space available for the Gluten Free Adventure Trek to Costa Rica, arranged by EMS, taking place from November 23 - 29, 2008, over Thanksgiving week.

The eight-day/seven-night trip will feature a hike up the Arenal Volcano, a rafting trip down the Pacuare River and a choice of additional activities. All equipment is provided. Comfortable rustic lodging is in two-person safari-style A-frame tents, complete with beds, mattresses and bedding. All meals are gluten free and will be prepared by trained staff.

The trek is geared toward beginner and intermediate adventurers and is open to those who live gluten-free, as well as their friends and family. The trip will be led by experienced guide Becky Harrison, who has been arranging gluten-free menus for trekkers in Nepal for many years. Melinda Dennis, dietitian and founder of Delete the Wheat Nutritional Consultancy, will be offering lectures on gluten-free living during the trip.

For more information, or to sign up, visit the EMS Trek website. Click here to download a brochure. Deadline for signup is September 21.
